EXPERTS
When I first discovered AS and chased after my own official label, I was one angry guy. Experts who should have known better had labeled me with every mental health condition in the DSM-IV (and its earlier iterations) and had really missed the mark. This is one of my early rants, and as I course through my later writings -- much more polite -- they will find their place here.
At this time, eight years beyond the age of 55, I must say that while I'm understanding of AS adults who are stuck in the rant and rage stage about experts, I find them boring company. I understand venting. I understand rumination. But I don't have to stick around folks who haven't moved much beyond that stage. There's so much extra work, and so much to learn, even from experts, providing we work with them, not "agin 'em."
